Alngith cultural services

 

This form is to be completed to book an Alngith boss, guardian or cultural authority of our Country. to attend the event you are hosting to perform a Welcome to Country. It is a sign of respect to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land according to Alngith our culture, law and way of life and as the Traditional Custodians of Wypa (Weipa and Napranum)  we see this as an opportunity to share our ancient culture, customs and practices of how we respect the land, people and culture by supporting your event. A responsibility derived from Alngith ancestors and our sacred relationship with our land.

Today, businesses, Local Governments, conferences and forums, official openings and ceremonies, and other events have the opportunity to book an Alngith Welcomes to Country to be performed by an Alngith boss, guardian or cultural authority.   Alngith bosses, guardians and cultural authorities speak for the land within our territory, as they have had Alngith culture, history and ancestral and spiritual knowledge transmitted to them, and we have a responsibility to care for our land, care for all people on our land and pick up where our ancestors left off in welcoming and partnering with outsiders to our Country to advance the priorities of our land.

We require at least 7 days notice prior to your event to ensure that we have an Alngith boss, guardian or cultural authority available. Please allow 2-3 working days to receive your official quote/confirmation.

Please note that invoices are generally issued after the event. Let us know if you wish to have the invoice earlier.
