Alngith Corporation is currently developing our cultural tourism experience for local, state, national and international tourist in the lead up to the Olympics in Brisbane in 2032.
Led by our Rangers, Alngith have created the Choolatha – Cultural Tourism Experience. We seek to share our deep connection and relationship to the cyclone dreaming of our people.
The best way to take the pulse of the world’s oldest civilisation and learn about Alngith people, culture and County is on a day or multi-day tour with Alngith Rangers and Guides who will proudly share their culture, deep love and respect for their country and knowledge and wisdom of the biodiversity.
In the coming weeks, people will be able to sign up for a day trip or the two-night commencing in July-August on Algnith Country. You could:
- Fly into Weipa and undertake the Choolatha – Cultural Tourism Experience
- Go on a journey of discovery that starts with a traditional Welcome to Country Ceremony, storytelling and a yarning circle, and then takes you on a deep dive into Algnith culture
- Guided on Country tours, bush tucker meals, artefact workshops, dance and a tour of the sacred Embley, Mission and Hay Rivers.
